Child Safety Standards
Last updated: August 24, 2026
PinBubbles is designed for users aged 13 and older (see Terms of Use §1). We take child safety seriously and follow the standards below to prevent the platform being used to harm minors or distribute child sexual abuse material (CSAM).
1. Age policy
- Our Terms of Use require users to be at least 13 years old. Users under the age of majority in their country must confirm a parent or guardian agrees to the Terms on their behalf.
- Accounts we discover are used by users under 13 will be removed. Report a suspected under-13 user via support@pinbubbles.app.
2. Pre-publish content moderation
Every message ("bubble") and image is screened by automated moderation before it is visible to other users:
- Image moderation — AWS Rekognition scans every uploaded image for nudity, suggestive content, violence, and explicit material. Images flagged by the service are blocked and never published.
- Text moderation — AWS Comprehend evaluates every bubble and comment for toxic language, harassment, hate speech, and sexual content. Content flagged above the threshold is blocked and returns a kindness reminder to the poster.
3. CSAM prevention
PinBubbles operates a zero-tolerance policy on CSAM. Our controls:
- AWS Rekognition's explicit-nudity detection is enforced on every image upload. Any image that trips this filter is rejected before it reaches other users.
- User reports (see below) create a moderation-queue record that our team reviews within 24 hours. Content confirmed as CSAM is removed immediately, the offending account is permanently banned, and the material is reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) via the CyberTipline where jurisdictionally required.
- We preserve reported content in a moderation archive for up to 30 days (per Data Deletion §What is archived) to support law-enforcement investigations before permanent deletion.
4. User safety controls
Every user has direct access to these tools:
- Report — tap the ⋮ menu on any bubble or comment to file a report. Reports flow to a validation queue reviewed by community voters and staff.
- Block user — hides all bubbles and comments from the blocked user across map, AR, list, and detail views; blocked users cannot comment on your bubbles.
- Mute user— silences a user's content without notifying them.
5. Behavior enforcement (karma)
Every account has a karma score. Users with confirmed violations lose posting privileges progressively (fewer messages per day, longer cooldowns, eventual account suspension). Repeat offenders and users involved in CSAM or grooming behavior are permanently banned.
6. Content expiration
All bubbles auto-expire from 30 minutes (Free tier) up to 1 month (Pro / Business). Content and its associated images are hard-deleted from our S3 buckets at expiry, reducing the long-term surface area for harmful UGC. Reported content is moved to a moderation archive for up to 30 days before permanent deletion.
7. How to report a child safety concern
- In-app: tap the ⋮ menu → Report on the affected bubble or comment
- Email: support@pinbubbles.app — subject line "Child Safety Report"
- Response time: within 24 hours for reports flagged as child safety; within 2 business days for general reports
8. Law enforcement and legal contact
Law enforcement requests (subpoenas, preservation letters, emergency disclosures) should be sent to support@pinbubbles.app with the subject "Legal — Law Enforcement Request". We respond within 48 hours to valid requests and comply with applicable Thai and international law.
9. Contact
